Real Vets is a family-owned, independent small animal practice that has been caring for the dogs, cats and small animals in our community for over 40 years
The Real Vets journey started in the 1980’s when George MacRitchie began consulting in his Mount Vernon home. Beechwood Veterinary Centre in Baillieston opened shortly afterwards and Low Waters Veterinary Centre in Hamilton opened in the early 2000’s.
In 2011, George retired, wishing the practice to remain independent. Existing team members and their partners, Russell Lees, Elaine Mills, Alan Mills and Lee Marnock formed Real Vets Ltd, to continue the business in the spirit in which it was started.
Alan and Elaine have now retired and are much missed. Russell and Lee continue to own the practice and are very heavily involved in the day to day operations.
We maintain the highest of standards at the practice, with dedicated dog and cat wards, digital x-ray, ultrasound, full sterile theatre, in-house laboratory, dental equipment and a complete soft tissue surgical operating kit.
However, the most important part of Real Vets is our experienced, dedicated and knowledgeable team who are committed to giving your pets compassionate care in a friendly and relaxed environment.
