First Aid

In memory of Gordon Morrison, we have dedicated ourselves to providing FREE first aid classes to the local community.

We have had two very successful sessions so far with more upcoming.

Defibrillators

Part of our first aid course has been to gain confidence in Defibrillator use. To help aid knowledge on location of these in the local community, we have created a list and got an online defib list map from defibfinder.uk
St John's ambulance service are currently looking to add more within the area too.

Garrowhill Primary School, 25 Bakewell Road available only during school hours
East End Fox, 192 Glasgow Road available 24/7
Chapman Butchers, 53 Main Street available 24/7
Unit 25, Baillieston Distribution Centre available 7am-8pm Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm Saturday and 9am-4pm Sunday
Mount Vernon Community Centre, Kenmuir Avenue available 24/7
Morrisons, Ravenswood Road available 7am-10pm Monday-Saturday and 8am-7pm Sunday
Stepford Sports Centre, 1459 Edinburgh Road available 2pm-10pm Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm Saturday and 10am-6pm Sunday
Spring Grove Clinic, 23 Barrachnie Road, available 9am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-3pm Friday

We have successfully trained over 30 members of the community in life saving CPR and defibrillator skills with paramedic Andy.

Both sessions so far have received great feedback and we look forward to more first aid events.

Part of our first aid class is to encourage members to join the GoodSAM app once certified.

GoodSam alerts those signed up in the area of local people in need of life saving skills before paramedics arrive to increase chances of survival.
